Dear friends and supporters of Korbgemeinschaft,

Many terrible things are happening in Syria. Unfortunately, we hardly hear or read about them in the local media. This is not surprising as long as politicians focus on the return of refugees. What is happening to the Syrian people in their home country is unacceptable and, in my view, it constitutes a gross injustice. Christians in Syria have little influence on the country’s politics and economy. But much can be done in the social sector. Without the solidarity of fellow Christians abroad – especially those in Eastern countries – Christians in Syria cannot master this crisis.

I am sending you this letter and look forward to any help you can provide, whether through advice or concrete action.

The fate of Christians in Syria today is existentially dependent on our brotherly and sisterly charity.

United with you in prayer,
Your Fr. Hanna Ghoneim
